“Rosie the Riveter” to visit the
Icebreaker Mackinaw Maritime Museum
We are pleased to announce the first of three presentations by Ms. Angie Timan. She will
present her “Rosie the Riveter” program focusing on the actual work that women did while building the USCGC Mackinaw WAGB 83 in Toledo, Ohio.
Angie Timan is a Michigander from Granville. A ‘84 CMU grad and ‘93 NMU grad who has taught Physical Education, Family Consumer Science, 6th and 8th grade Science and Health in MI, FL, AZ, IN, AL and Great Britain since 1984, she is also a living historian who has been portraying various people to present at educational events since 2000. She is the Indiana State Representative for the American Rosie the Riveter Association. She also the President of the American Rosie the Riveter Association Indiana Chapter.
The program will be held on Wednesday, June 7th at 3:00pm aboard the ship. General admission rates apply with no additional charge for the presentation. It is suggested that guests arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the program. It will be an audio/video presentation and she will happily take questions from the audience. She will also be available for photos and continued discussion after the presentation.
Tentative additional dates are July 5th and August 2nd, 2017.
