Who says the holidays only come once a year? Join us aboard the ship for Christmas in July, a festive summertime celebration with a nautical twist. Enjoy the cheerful spirit of the season while exploring the ship and taking part in lighthearted holiday fun. It’s the perfect chance to celebrate with family and friends, soak up the summer sunshine, and experience a little mid-year holiday magic. From seasonal surprises to cheerful decorations and plenty of maritime charm, Christmas in July is a fun and unexpected way to enjoy the museum during the summer season. Included with admission.  

History Happy Hour: Darren Muljo

Join us on Friday, August 7, for a special History Happy Hour aboard the historic Icebreaker Mackinaw Maritime Museum featuring guest speaker Darren Muljo. Darren will present the remarkable story behind the July 17, 1999, consecration of the SS Edmund Fitzgerald aboard the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Mackinaw. His presentation will explore the years of determination, advocacy, and compassion that led to the wreck site being officially recognized as the final resting place of the 29 crew members lost on November 10, 1975.
